Privacy Policy
Dhobify (“Dhobify”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Dhobify Vendor mobile application and the Dhobify customer service available through the website and apps. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the choices you have. We aim to be straightforward and only collect what we need to run the service.
By using Dhobify you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. Who is the data controller
The data controller is the operator of Dhobify. You can reach us for any privacy questions at support@dhobify.app.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Account details: name, mobile phone number, business/laundromat name (for vendors).
- Verification documents (vendors only): Aadhaar card photos (front and back) and a selfie. These are used solely to verify the vendor’s identity before onboarding.
- Service area and pricing (vendors only): the geographic area you serve, services offered, prices, and your UPI ID for payouts.
- Booking content: pickup/delivery photos, item counts, notes, and chat messages with our support team.
- Support content: messages, screenshots, and attachments you send via the in-app help/ticketing flow.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and technical data: device model, operating system, app version, and crash logs to diagnose problems.
- Push notification token: a device-specific token issued by Apple Push Notification Service or Google Firebase Cloud Messaging so that we can deliver booking, ticket, and verification updates.
- Approximate location: only when you grant permission — used for setting your service area, finding nearby bookings, and confirming pickups/deliveries. We do not track your location in the background.
- Usage analytics: we keep minimal logs of API requests for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.
2.3 Information from third parties
- Google Sign-In (admins only): if your administrator account uses Google OAuth, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google. We never see your Google password.
3. How we use your information

4. Legal bases for processing
We process your data on the bases of (a) performance of the contract you have with us when you use Dhobify, (b) our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the service, (c) your consent (for example, granting location or notification permissions), and (d) compliance with legal obligations.
5. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers we contract with who process data strictly on our behalf:
- Railway — application hosting and database.
- Cloudflare R2 — encrypted object storage for photos and documents.
- MSG91 — sending OTP SMS and transactional messages.
- Expo — delivery of push notifications via APNS / FCM.
- Resend — sending administrative and support emails.
- Google Cloud — Google Sign-In for administrators.
- Other Dhobify users when necessary to fulfil a booking — for example, sharing a vendor’s contact number with the customer at the time of pickup.
- Authorities when we are legally required to disclose information.
- Successors in business if Dhobify is acquired or merged, in which case we will notify users in advance.
5a. Payments and money flow
Dhobify is a marketplace that connects you with local laundry vendors. Payments are made directly between you and your vendor via cash or UPI at the time of delivery. Dhobify does not collect, hold, or process any payments. We do not have access to your bank accounts, UPI accounts, or payment methods.
6. International transfers
Our infrastructure is hosted with providers that may store data outside India (for example in the United States or Europe). When we transfer data internationally we rely on standard contractual safeguards offered by these providers.
7. Data retention
- Account information: retained while your account is active and for up to 90 days after deletion to comply with legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution needs.
- Booking and transaction records: retained for up to 7 years to satisfy Indian tax and accounting laws.
- Verification documents: retained while the account is active. Removed within 30 days of account deletion unless required for fraud or legal investigations.
- Support tickets and chat: retained for up to 2 years.
- Logs and analytics: retained for up to 12 months.
8. Your rights and choices
You can:
- Access and update your profile information from inside the app.
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data — see our Account Deletion page.
- Withdraw permissions (location, notifications, camera) from your device settings at any time.
- Opt out of non-essential push notifications from inside the app.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@dhobify.app from the address or phone number associated with your account. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Security
We use HTTPS for all network traffic, encrypt object storage at rest, hash and salt sensitive credentials, rate-limit authentication endpoints, and review access regularly. No method of transmission or storage is 100 % secure; if we ever experience a breach that affects your data we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
10. Children’s privacy
Dhobify is not intended for use by children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Cookies and similar technologies
Our marketing website uses minimal first-party cookies for session management. The Dhobify mobile applications do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our service, technology, or legal obligations. When we make material changes we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
